Well, we could of course mention all of the world famous places where we’re sure you’d like to visit such as the Colosseum, Vatican City, the Spanish Steps and many, many more.
Instead though, we decided to let you know of some lesser known but just as fascinating places that are well worth a visit during your time in the Eternal City.
Not often mentioned when hearing of Rome’s most popular attractions is Bioparco, or Rome Zoo. Keenly involved in conservation and scientific research, it’s a great day out whether or not you brought the kids!
Visit the Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, where you can see the remains of over 4,000 Capuchin Friars. Their bones have been used to create decorative displays to adorn the crypt – definitely something different!
On Sundays, the Porta Portese flea market in Trastevere is a great destination, allowing you to browse through the many stalls in search of that ideal memento of your stay. Indulge in a bit of haggling and get yourself an Italian bargain! |
